SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A STROBE LIGHT

As Marilyn Monroe once sang, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” It’s no wonder that so many of us girls are on the pursuit to find the best highlight for the brightest glow and most beautiful diamond-like shine.
I may have found the answer to our glittery prayers.
LA Girl Cosmetics Strobe Lite Strobing Powder are soft, silky and buttery highlighting powders that are well pigmented, don’t leave streaks and are extremely buildable. You’re in complete control on whether you want a subtle glow or you want to shine bright like a diamond. Rihanna would probably encourage the latter though ... just saying.
It leaves a tasteful sheen, has a stunning duo chrome finish while still being lightweight. It’s paraben and fragrance free – basically, it’s really good stuff!
“But wait, what do you even use a strobing powder for? I still haven’t mastered the contour and you’re talking about strobing?!”
Relax, my pretty. It really isn’t complicated.
Strobing powder works the same way as a highlight. It highlights your facial features by creating depth and dimension on the areas where the light naturally hits the skin to create a glowing, lifted complexion. It should be applied with a light hand in the centre of the forehead, along the high point of the cheekbone, the tip of the chin, underneath the brow bone, along the bridge of the nose and above the lip on the cupid’s bow. (For those with oilier skin, you may prefer to skip the forehead and chin).
Typically, highlight is used in conjunction with contouring mediums to achieve a carved out and chiselled look. If you choose to highlight without contouring, that’s essentially what strobing is. Simple, yet effective and achieves stunning results!
It’s advisable to use a matte foundation and keep the shimmery products limited to the highlighting medium. The idea is to subtly create the look of skin that’s radiating from within, not making your entire face sparkle like Edward Cullen, unless you were going for that then by all means, go #TeamEdward!
These powders come in 12 mesmerizingly beautiful shades, and the diverse colour range ensures that there’s a shade to compliment every makeup look and skin tone.
Quick guide to finding the perfect strobing powder for you
Fair skin tones – Pearl, light champagne colours are your friend!
Fair to medium skin tones – You lucky ducks can get away with many different shades. Nevertheless, I’d suggest champagne, pink or light gold toned shades.
Olive skin tones – Champagne and gold toned shades will look stunning on your complexion.
Darker skin tones - A peachy toned or bronze shade would be absolutely gorgeous.
