Halloween How To: Unicorn Makeup

If you’re one of those beauty babes who keeps getting judged for excessive highlighter use, Halloween is your time to shine unapologetically and blind the haters.

And what comes to mind when you think of sensational sparkle and multi-coloured shine? Unicorns.

The unicorn trend that swarmed the beauty nation last year has shown no signs of slowing down. More and more makeup brands are coming out with whimsical glitters and fantasy-inducing illuminators making it easier than ever to pull off a majestic star-studded unicorn look.

Kayleigh Noelle has put together an utterly breathtaking unicorn makeup look along with an adorable DIY showing you how to create your very own floral unicorn horn headband.

Whilst we may not be able to help you with the DIY component of the video, we sure can help you recreate a similar unicorn look with our range of products!

Pink-ify those brows

Kayleigh blocks out her natural brows by applying a light liquid concealer and setting it with a generous amount of loose powder.

She then colours over her brows and fills them in using a pink liquid lipstick and an angled eyebrow brush.

We recommend:

LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss 837 Playful ($3.95)

The eyes

Kayleigh blends a warm neutral orange throughout the crease and deepens up the outer third of the eyes with a bold fuchsia.

She draws an elongated cat eye and finishes the eyes with some lashes to add some drama to the look.

She lines her waterline with a black eyeliner pencil and smudges that out using the same bold fuchsia shade from earlier (note: this is not pictured here).

We recommend:

Eyeshadow - BYS Eyeshadow On The Go Palette Peach ($10.95)

Lashes - BYS Eyelashes 53 Triple Luxe Triple Lashes ($11.95)

Contour and blush

Kayleigh uses a cream contour to define her forehead, temples, cheekbones and nose and blends it out using a silicone sponge.

She applies a bold pink blush with a heavy hand on the apples of her cheeks and underneath the outer side of the eyes to create that innocent fantasy-inspired look.

Adding some sparkle

Kayleigh dabs a generous amount of cream glitters to her face, concentrating on the cheeks, across the bridge of the nose and the top of her forehead.

She then applies a glossy pink lip colour and adds some glitter to the centre of her lips to add dimension.

We recommend:

Face - LA Colors Iced Pigment Powder Flash ($4.95)

Lips - BYS Glitter Lipgloss 09 Mercury ($3.95)

Bring on the glitter

Kayleigh uses a frosty silver highlighter to highlight her face, décolletage and shoulders.

And if that still isn’t enough sparkle for you, Kayleigh also adds silver rhinestones in an upside-down V shape to her forehead as well as chunky gold glitter to her temples, cheekbones, décolletage and shoulders.

We recommend:

Highlight – J.Cat Beauty You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter White Goddess ($14.95)

Glitter - BYS Glitter Face & Body Kit Ocean Opal ($9.95) and BYS Glitter Face & Body Kit Gold ($6.95)

Good luck, unicorns!
