Dark circles, dryness, puffiness and wrinkling can definitely take the attention away from our eyes.
We don’t know about you, but spending hours trying to perfect the perfect eyeshadow look just to have our dark circles steal the show is totally unfair in our opinion.
That’s why we’ve stocked up on all the crucial eye-care products you need to diminish dark circles, punch-out puffiness, ditch the dryness and wave goodbye to those undereye wrinkles.Â
Why use a separate eye product?
The skin around the eye is considerably thinner than the rest of the face and moves constantly, so it tends to show dryness and fine lines earlier. Dedicated formulas are usually lighter and ophthalmologically tested, which matters for a product applied close to the eye itself.
How do I apply it?
Use your ring finger, which applies the least pressure, and tap rather than drag. Apply to the orbital bone rather than right up to the lash line — the product migrates upward as it warms. A small amount is enough; excess is the most common cause of milia and of concealer sliding later.
Eye cream, gel or serum?
Gels are lightweight and suit puffiness or oilier skin. Creams are richer and better for dryness and visible texture. Serums are the most concentrated and go on before either. If you use more than one, apply thinnest to thickest.
What actually helps with dark circles?
It depends on the cause. Shadow from bone structure will not change with skincare — that is a concealer job. Pigmentation may respond to brightening ingredients over time. Puffiness often responds to a cool applicator and sleeping slightly elevated. Managing expectations here saves money.
What else belongs in the routine?
Eye care goes after serum and before moisturiser. Browse the full skincare essentials range, or explore products by skin concern.
