What is liquid eyeshadow good for?
Speed and intensity. A single swipe gives more pigment than several layers of powder, and most formulas set within a minute, which makes them useful when you have no time to blend. Shimmer and metallic finishes in particular look more reflective in liquid than in powder.
How do I blend it before it sets?
Work one eye at a time and blend immediately. Most liquid formulas are only movable for around thirty seconds. Apply a small amount, blend the edge with a fingertip or a small brush, then build if you need more. Trying to move it after it sets lifts the layer rather than softening it.
Does it crease?
Less than powder for most people, since it sets to a film rather than sitting on the surface. Oily lids will still see some creasing without primer. Applying thinly matters more than the formula — a thick layer of any liquid shadow will crease at the fold.
Can I use it with powder shadow?
Yes, and it works well. Use liquid as a base wash for colour and intensity, then blend a matte powder through the crease to soften the edge. Applying powder over liquid also helps lock it down on oily lids.
