What is the difference between perfume, EDP and EDT?
The difference is concentration of fragrance oil. Parfum is the most concentrated and longest lasting. Eau de parfum sits below it and typically lasts most of a day. Eau de toilette is lighter and usually needs reapplying. Body mists are the lightest of all and are designed for a short, fresh burst rather than longevity.
Where should I apply it?
Pulse points — wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears — where warmth helps the fragrance develop. Apply to moisturised skin, which holds scent considerably longer than dry skin. Do not rub wrists together; it crushes the top notes and shortens the life of the fragrance.
Why does it smell different on me?
Skin chemistry, hydration and even diet influence how a fragrance develops. This is why testing on skin matters more than testing on a card, and why it is worth waiting thirty minutes before deciding — the opening notes are not what you will be wearing an hour later.
How should I store it?
Away from heat, light and humidity, which degrade fragrance oils. A bathroom shelf is one of the worst places for this reason. A drawer or cupboard at stable room temperature preserves it far longer.
